The Elite Components were designed to meet the listening needs and preferences of the consumer while maintaining a design that can perform under tough acoustic conditions.

The Woofer:

The TIGHTWEAVE© woven black Kevlar cone is treated with special resins to control the stiffness and a high grade compound to add damping and seal the fabric.  The cone along with the half-roll Butyl rubber surround and NC3 spider allow for exceptional clarity and can deliver more fine detail.

The Crossover:

The internal components are comprised of  metalized polypropylene (1% tolerance) capacitors, air and iron core inductors, and a light attenuation circuit for tweeter protection. Many component sets now days use PPTC switches in their crossover networks to protect the tweeter from damage.  The down side to this type of protection is once a PPTC switch reaches its’ threshold temperature the tweeter will suddenly cut out and then come back on once the switch resets.   The Elite Components on the other hand use a light attenuated circuit to protect the tweeter from damage and also prevents the tweeter from randomly cutting in and out as with a PPTC switch.  However, if you are use to crossovers utilizing the PPTC switch, we include two with every component set.  The light attenuation bulb is held in place by two set screws that allows for quick and easy replacement with the supplied PPTC switches.

The Tweeter:

This is where the Elite Components are most unique in that you purchase the tweeters separately. This way you have the ability to fine tune the high frequencies to your listening preference.  There are two different diaphragm materials to choose from, pure silk (S) and silk infused aluminum (A). Also, there are two different sizes, 20mm (.75″) for better fit in factory tweeter locations and a 25mm (1″) for custom fit locations.  Click on ECST20S/ECST20A and the ECST25S/ECS25A links to discover the tweeter that best fits YOU!
